‘Drink
your tea slowly and reverently, as if it is the axis on which the world earth
revolves – slowly, evenly, without rushing toward the future. Live the
actual moment.’ ~Thich Nhat
Hanh
‘Walk
as if you are kissing the Earth with your feet.’ ~Thich Nhat Hahn

English version:
Rituals are often underestimated by Western culture . Elements
can be considered strictly religious (which displeases those who do not have
one or who is adept at religion contrary to the ritual offered ) or protocol
meaningless , mere " filler sausage ." These
planned practices are present in our day - to-day more than we think . Beer
on Fridays after work to football on Sundays , all this is often seen practiced
ritual , however it is secular . And
everything is ritualized is also a habit that can spill over into other spheres
of life.
This is the case of Japanese etiquette , extremely accurate for us westerners . But do not judge how futile these practices , they have a purpose framework that can be beautifully functional . This is the case of cultivation of perfection in every single daily activity , through the practice of mindfulness .

For the well-trained mind , tea , walking and washing the car can be activities that awaken us , that give us the opportunity to see where our mind is .
